2022 Stone Flat Chardonnay Sonoma Valley
Notes
Green-tinged, pale yellow. Fresh sliced green orchard fruits, dried straw, verbena and suggestions of white pepper and wet rock. Mid-weighted, bright and intense yet poised, holding the tension and sensation of fruit flesh adjacent to the skin. A compelling arch of tension in the mouth and beautiful structure. Purity and precision with a coiled, long and lasting mineral driven finish.

The 2022 Chardonnay Stone Flat Vineyard springs with spritely notes of lemon curd, lime cordial, and fresh grapefruit followed by nuances of struck flint, fresh ginger, and baking bread. The medium to full-bodied palate is electric with citrus and ginger-inspired flavors, supported by a crisp backbone and satiny texture, finishing long and steely.

Dried peaches and pineapple with cooked and raw pie crust on the nose. Full-bodied and layered with an edge to it from both phenolics and fresh acidity. Some hints of bark and earth undertones. Rather unique. Drink or hold.

The 2022 Chardonnay Stone Flat Vineyard boasts a more floral bouquet of white flowers. It is more vertical on the palate, with a more persistent core of fresh acidity, a focused feel, and a note of delicate, toasty incense on the finish. It takes on a good deal of energy and is going to be an age-worthy wine. Very compelling, it’s going to show its best over the next 10 years.
