2022 Dutton Ranch Chardonnay

Notes

Green-tinged, pale yellow. High-pitched aromas of snappy green orchard fruit and lime blossom, with underlying base tones of roasted hazelnuts, and hints of struck flint. Penetrating, vibrant, with ample body, lively acids and soil specific earthen character. A poignant expression of Chardonnay grown in the sands of west Sonoma County.

The 2022 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch prances out with gregarious notes of pineapple tart, honey-coated almonds, mandarin peel, and apple butter plus hints of sea spray and lemongrass. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers plenty of zip and zing, with loads of citrus sparks and a creaminess to the texture, finishing with wonderful freshness and vibrancy.

You can feel the skins from the grapes, with an apple skin, pear and light pineapple character and texture. It’s full and layered with a sense of muscle and form. Creme caramel and flan notes. Snappy at the end. Give it three or four years to come around.

The 2022 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch pours a bright yellow hue and is showing a fantastic savory side, with notes of preserved citrus, chive, delicate toast, and salted pear. Medium to full-bodied, it is another elegant wine with mouthwatering fresh acidity in this vintage. It is long on the palate and floats away with ease. Drink it over the next 10 years. 13,188 bottles produced.
