The 2013 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard, planted in 1979 with Old Wente in red volcanic soils, is a stunner. Deep, concentrated, full-bodied notes of white currants, lemon oil, apple blossom, white peach and honeysuckle are all present in this beautiful wine that will drink nicely for the next seven or so years.

The 2013 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard, which emerges from a steep hillside site, is another highlight in this range. White flowers and orchard fruits abound in this very pretty, delicate, lifted Chardonnay. The Mount Eden clone Steve Kistler planted here on St. George rootstock yields an especially lifted, almost ethereal Chardonnay that is quite different from the rest of the wines in the line up. The 2013 KV has really come along well since I tasted it prior to bottling.
